ISLAMABAD: On Saturday, Minister for Power Division Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari extended an invitation to the Chinese company LONGi Green Energy Technology Co. Ltd. to establish a solar PV manufacturing plant in Pakistan.
During a meeting with President Zhenguo Li of LONGi Green Energy Company, the minister urged the company to consider setting up the solar manufacturing facility in Pakistan, as per a statement issued by the Power Division.
During the meeting, Minister Leghari highlighted the vast solar potential present in Pakistan and emphasized the rapid increase in the share of renewable energy within the country’s energy mix.
He underscored the importance of leveraging solar energy to meet Pakistan’s growing energy needs while also contributing to global efforts for sustainable energy development.
In response, Mr. Zhenguo Li expressed his full support for promoting solar energy initiatives in Pakistan. Assuring his commitment to collaboration, Li affirmed the company’s willingness to contribute to Pakistan’s renewable energy sector.
