The Australian government has made the visa application process easier for eligible Pakistanis by allowing them to submit key identity information through the Australian Immi App. This move aims to streamline applications and reduce the need for in-person visits.
Submit Passport Details and Biometrics via Smartphone
Australian High Commissioner to Pakistan, Tim Kane, announced that applicants can now provide passport details and facial biometrics directly from their smartphones. The update applies to those who have a “requirement to provide personal identifiers (biometrics)” letter containing a Visa Lodgement Number (VLN) starting with AUI or AUH, along with a valid passport.
Applicants whose VLN does not start with these prefixes will still need to visit an Australian Biometrics Collection Centre to submit their personal identifiers.
App Requirements and Usage Guidelines
The Australian Immi App requires a stable internet connection and a smartphone with NFC enabled. Users must also grant the app permission to access the device’s camera and location services to complete the biometric submission.
This digital update reflects Australia’s ongoing efforts to make visa applications more convenient while maintaining secure identity verification procedures. Eligible applicants in Pakistan can now save time and effort by completing these steps directly from their smartphones, reducing the need for travel and in-person appointments.
