The partnership between David Warner and Mitchell Marsh was remarkable, amassing 259 runs before Pakistan’s Shaheen Shah Afridi dismissed both Marsh and Glenn Maxwell with consecutive deliveries.

David Warner, the opening batter, played a brilliant innings, scoring 163 runs off 124 balls, while Marsh contributed 121 runs from 108 balls. Their centuries set a new record for the highest opening partnership for Australia in men’s World Cup history.
Despite the explosive start by Warner and Marsh, the Australian team couldn’t maintain the momentum, losing their next seven wickets quickly.
Shaheen Shah Afridi was the star bowler for Pakistan, claiming a five-wicket haul while conceding 54 runs in his ten overs. Haris Rauf also took three wickets but was the most expensive bowler for Pakistan, giving away 83 runs in eight overs.
Pakistan had won the toss and opted to bowl first. However, Australia’s opening pair dominated the proceedings, posting 259 runs in just 34 overs.
In this 18th match of the tournament at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, Pakistan is seeking a comeback victory after their previous loss to India. They had won their two previous matches against the Netherlands and Sri Lanka.
Australia, on the other hand, aims for their second win in the tournament. They managed to defeat Sri Lanka in their previous match after suffering consecutive losses to India and South Africa.
Notably, Pakistan made a significant change by dropping Shadab Khan, who had been struggling with his bowling form.
