Atif Aslam captivated his Dubai audience with a heartfelt live performance of Dil Se Re, the iconic song from the 1998 Bollywood film Dil Se, originally sung by AR Rahman.
As visuals of Shah Rukh Khan played in the background, Atif’s emotional delivery resonated deeply with fans, quickly gaining traction on social media. Fans were quick to praise his moving rendition of the classic track.
Reflecting on the song’s importance, Atif shared a video on Instagram where he commented, “Some masterpieces y’all wanted to hear, but if there’s a heart, there’s also pain.” He also opened up about his personal journey, revealing that January felt like a time of dormancy, while February signals a new beginning filled with renewed energy.
Dil Se Re remains a beloved anthem, composed by AR Rahman with lyrics by Gulzar. The original music video featured Bollywood icons Shah Rukh Khan and Manisha Koirala, with Anuradha Sriram and Anupama lending their voices to the chorus.
Beyond his musical endeavors, Atif is also spearheading the Borderless World initiative, a platform aimed at fostering artistic collaboration and supporting emerging talent.
This performance is not the first time the Jal Pari singer has paid tribute to an Indian music legend. In 2015, he also performed Kun Faya Kun at the GIMA Awards, showcasing his admiration for legendary artists.
