Heavy Fines and Jail Time for Violence, Racism, or Abuse
As anticipation builds for the blockbuster Asia Cup 2025 showdown between Pakistan and India, Dubai Police have issued a firm warning to fans: any form of violence, racism, or abusive behavior will not be tolerated — and could lead to hefty fines or jail time.
With just hours to go before the match at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, authorities are urging supporters to maintain sportsmanship and discipline, ensuring a safe environment for all.
Full Security in Place for High-Stakes Match
Dubai’s Events Security Committee (ESC) has confirmed that comprehensive security arrangements are in place. Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Operations at Dubai Police and Chairman of the ESC, stated that specialised police units will be deployed at the venue for all Asia Cup matches.
“Any attempts to disrupt safety inside or outside the stadium will be met with immediate legal action,” Al Mazrouei warned.
Strict Legal Penalties Outlined
Dubai Police highlighted penalties under the Federal Law on the Security of Sports Facilities and Events:
-
Unauthorised entry to the pitch or possession of banned items (e.g. fireworks) could lead to 1–3 months in prison and fines ranging from Dh5,000 to Dh30,000.
-
Acts of violence, throwing objects, or racist/abusive language carry imprisonment and fines between Dh10,000 and Dh30,000.
Officials emphasized that violators will face immediate consequences to maintain order and protect fans.
Key Guidelines for Match-Goers
To ensure smooth entry and crowd control, the ESC has issued the following instructions:
-
Arrive at least 3 hours before kick-off
-
Only one entry allowed per valid ticket
-
Respect the list of prohibited items
-
Avoid illegal or random parking near the stadium
List of Prohibited Items
Dubai Police released a list of banned items not allowed inside the stadium:
-
Fireworks, flammable or toxic substances, lasers
-
Umbrellas, large cameras, selfie sticks, sharp or glass items
-
Remote-controlled devices, bicycles, scooters, skateboards
-
Flags, banners, pets
These measures are aimed at ensuring the safety of spectators, players, and staff throughout the event.
Call for Peace and Positive Conduct
Dubai Police are encouraging all fans to enjoy the game in a positive and respectful manner.
“The atmosphere will remain peaceful, and fan safety is our top priority,” said Al Mazrouei.
With one of the most anticipated matches of the Asia Cup 2025 set to unfold, authorities are committed to delivering a secure and enjoyable experience for everyone attending.
