ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has reaffirmed Pakistanโs absolute commitment to defeating terrorism and eliminating all forms of militant support. He stressed that the state would show no leniency toward terrorists or those who financed, sheltered, justified, or facilitated violence.
In a message issued on the 11th anniversary of the Army Public School attack in Peshawar, the president rejected any possibility of compromise. He declared that the state would not negotiate with individuals who raised arms against Pakistan or targeted innocent civilians.
โThere can be no negotiations with those who raise arms against the state or target our children,โ President Zardari said. He added that the memory of the APS martyrs continued to strengthen national resolve.
Remembering the APS Martyrs
The president said the nation remembered the innocent children and staff members whose lives were lost in the December 16, 2014, attack. He described their sacrifice as a permanent reminder of the high cost Pakistan had paid in its fight against terrorism.
He stated that Pakistan would never allow enemies of peace to achieve their objectives. Moreover, he said the tragedy unified the nation against extremism and violence.
President Zardari expressed solidarity with the families of the victims. He praised their courage and resilience in the face of enduring pain. He said the nation would always honour the APS families for transforming their grief into collective strength.
Condemnation of Indian-Sponsored Terrorism
The president strongly condemned what he described as Indian-sponsored terrorism in Pakistan. He said evidence of Indiaโs involvement in destabilising Pakistan remained well documented.
According to a press release issued by the Press Wing of the Presidentโs Secretariat, he said Pakistan would continue exposing hostile activities at international forums. He added that the state would defend its people with full resolve and determination.
Tribute to Security Forces
President Zardari paid tribute to Pakistanโs security forces, law enforcement agencies, and intelligence services. He acknowledged their efforts in preventing numerous attacks and saving countless lives.
He said their vigilance and sacrifices had strengthened national security. He also reaffirmed the governmentโs commitment to pursue every terrorist and facilitator without exception.
Warning to Terrorist Supporters
The president issued a stern warning to apologists and supporters of militant groups. He said the people and armed forces of Pakistan would not spare anyone who aided terrorism.
He added that terrorists and their backers would not escape accountability, regardless of political claims, ideological narratives, or fake religious justifications. He stressed that justice would prevail through sustained national resolve.
