Anoushey Ashraf Criticises Reza Pahlaviโs Foreign Policy Stance
Pakistan’s famous host Anoushey Ashraf has strongly criticised and condemned the comments of Raza Pahlavi, she’s really offended on his recent comments on foreign policy. She strongly believe that every country including Iran deserve strong and honest leadership without any interference of external agenda
Ashraf has long been a vocal supporter of the Palestinian cause. Her criticism came after Pahlavi pledged to immediately restore diplomatic relations between Iran and Israel if he comes to power. She said such statements raise serious concerns about his political intentions.
According to Ashraf, Iranians have the absolute right to decide their future. However, she warned against leadership figures acting as โobvious mouthpieces for a greater agenda.โ She said self-determination should not be compromised in the name of international alliances that ignore long-standing injustices.
She added that Pahlaviโs remarks failed to reflect the sentiments of many Iranians who oppose Israelโs policies toward Palestinians.
Palestineโs Absence Raises Questions
Ashraf expressed disappointment that Reza Pahlavi did not mention Palestine in his recent statement. She said this silence speaks volumes about his priorities and political leanings.
She criticised him for seeking recognition and strong ties with what she called an apartheid state. Ashraf argued that ignoring Palestine while advocating closer relations with Israel undermines moral credibility.
โAt the very least, he could have mentioned Palestine,โ she said. She added that Pahlavi could have acknowledged the complexity of relations with Israel while showing empathy for Palestinian suffering.
Ashraf said his failure to do so indicates a lack of concern for regional justice issues. She stressed that leaders who wish to represent the Iranian people must acknowledge broader regional realities.
She also noted that Iranโs public discourse has historically included strong support for Palestine. Ignoring that position, she said, risks alienating many Iranians.
Iranians Must Decide Their Own Political Future
Ashraf emphasized that Iranians are capable of deciding what is best for their country. She said the people should deal with Reza Pahlavi in whatever way they deem fit.
Reza Pahlavi is the son of Iranโs former shah, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. He has lived in exile in the United States since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, which transformed Iran from a monarchy into an Islamic republic.
In his recent remarks, Pahlavi said he would restore relations between Iran and the United States. He also proposed establishing ties with Israel under a new framework he called the โCyrus Accords.โ He said these accords would expand the Abraham Accords and bring together Iran, Israel, and Arab states.
Pahlavi also pledged to end Iranโs nuclear weapons program. During last yearโs conflict between Iran and Israel, he openly called on Iranโs leadership to resign. He has continued to demand the removal of the current regime during ongoing anti-government protests.
Ashraf concluded that leadership must reflect the values and struggles of the people it seeks to represent. She said Iranians deserve freedom of choice without external pressure or selective morality.
