Modi Prosecution
LONDON/ SAN FRANCISCO: In the aftermath of a significant visit to India by a senior FBI director, pro-Khalistan activists orchestrated a massive march on San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge. Over 1,000 vehicles adorned with Khalistan flags and “Wanted” banners featuring images of “Modi-Jaishankar-Sandhu” congested the highways leading to the bridge, marking one of the largest demonstrations of its kind.
Chanting slogans such as “FBI, FBI – You Are Right – Modi Is Behind Murder Plots,” the Sikhs gathered in support of American and Canadian investigations into India’s alleged assassination plan targeting pro-Khalistan Sikhs. Sikhs For Justice (SFJ), the organization spearheading the Khalistan Referendum voting campaign, orchestrated the rally.
SFJ General Counsel Gurpatwant Singh Pannun addressed the assembly, declaring the Sikh sovereignists’ determination to proceed with the campaign for Punjab’s liberation from Indian occupation through the Referendum, despite reported assassination threats. Pannun vowed to hold Narendra Modi accountable under international law for crimes against pro-Khalistan Sikhs, Kashmiri Muslims, and Christians in Manipur.
Referring to the US indictment of Indian agents, including Nikhil Gupta, for a foiled plot to assassinate Pannun, the SFJ founder asserted that these charges were effectively against Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Pannun accused Modi of direct involvement in orchestrating an assassination attempt and emphasized the need to bring him to justice.
On November 29, the US announced murder-for-hire charges against Indian national Nikhil Gupta, accusing him of participating in a plot to assassinate Pannun. The indictment highlighted the international collaboration to thwart the threat and the US government’s commitment to investigating, thwarting, and prosecuting individuals attempting harm on American soil.
DEA Administrator Anne Milgram commended the DEA New York Field Division for its leadership in the investigation and underscored the Department of Justice’s dedication to pursuing accountability for lethal plots originating overseas. The charges against Gupta exposed a dangerous conspiracy involving a foreign government employee recruiting an international narcotics trafficker to murder a US citizen on American soil.
This development has fueled tensions and raised questions about diplomatic relations, human rights, and the global reach of alleged state-sponsored threats against individuals advocating for self-determination and minority rights. Overall, pro-Khalistan activists march in San Francisco, urging FBI action and Modi prosecution, following the FBI director’s visit to India.
