ISLAMABAD: Popular Pakistani actress Alizeh Shah has addressed ongoing speculation about her appearance, denying rumors of plastic surgery and attributing the changes to natural ageing and weight loss.
The star of acclaimed dramas such as Ishq Tamasha, Ehd-e-Wafa, and the recent Ishq Beparwah, took to social media to set the record straight in a candid video shared with her 4.3 million Instagram followers.
“For God’s sake, I haven’t had any cosmetic procedures,” Alizeh said in the video. “I’ve just lost weight, that’s why I look different. When I acted in Ehd-e-Wafa, I was only 17. My mother signed the contract on my behalf because I didn’t even have an ID card. How do you expect someone to look the same after six years? I’m 23 now — obviously, I won’t look like I did at 17.”
Her response came after veteran actress Saba Faisal appeared on a talk show and commented on various celebrities’ appearances. When asked about Alizeh, Saba remarked, “She’s 20% natural. The rest seems artificial,” sparking a new wave of speculation online.
The internet quickly lit up with mixed reactions. Supporters defended Alizeh, calling the criticism unfair and accusing critics of body-shaming. One fan wrote, “Stop targeting her — she’s dealing with depression. Please be kind.” Others, however, remained skeptical. “Don’t lie, Alizeh. Your nose has clearly changed,” one user commented.
Despite the polarized opinions, Alizeh’s video struck a chord with many fans who praised her honesty and vulnerability. As the conversation around beauty standards and public scrutiny continues, the young actress’s message highlighted the pressure many celebrities face simply for growing up in the spotlight.
