Pakistani actor Alizeh Shah has broken her silence, revealing troubling details about alleged harassment, exploitation, and mistreatment she claims to have endured within Pakistan’s entertainment industry.
In a series of emotional Instagram stories posted on Monday, the 25-year-old actor opened up about bullying, non-payment of dues, defamation campaigns, and unwanted physical contact—all of which, she says, have contributed to her being trolled, mocked, and blacklisted.
“I’m going to expose every single person who did me wrong,” Shah stated, adding that she’s “done with people trolling [her], making fun of [her], and making memes.” She emphasized the unseen emotional burden that actors carry, urging the public to understand that “an actor’s life is already difficult enough.”
Shah revisited the viral Bridal Couture Week 2021 incident, where she appeared to trip on the runway alongside singer Shazia Manzoor. While previously dismissed as a mishap, Shah now claims it was intentional. “We had to go right. This lady pulled me and dragged me on the floor,” she alleged. Shah accused Manzoor of trying to make her fall multiple times and later ridiculing the incident with TikTok star Jannat Mirza and TV host Juggan Kazim. “She had her hands on my hip throughout the show… she kept trying to make me fall,” Shah added.
Shah also turned a spotlight on the industry’s exploitative payment practices. “We get cheques after three months—only after begging for our own money,” she revealed. “And when we finally get paid, they act like it’s a favor. That’s why I stopped working.”
She claimed her push for timely payments and professionalism led to her being blacklisted. “Pages are being paid to troll me. Directors call me for meetings just to question my ‘bad image’, without any intention of casting me,” she said, challenging the hypocrisy and gatekeeping within the industry.
Addressing a previous controversy in which she was accused of assaulting a co-star by throwing a cigarette, Shah said the narrative was manipulated. She insisted the co-star physically assaulted her first—pushing and slapping her—while the cameras rolled. “Nothing like that [the cigarette] was caught on camera,” Shah asserted. She admitted to throwing a sandal in anger afterward but denied any physical violence beyond that.
Highlighting personal boundaries, Shah expressed discomfort with how touch is often normalized on sets without consent. “I don’t allow anyone to touch me if it’s not in the scene. You have to ask me first. I’m not your property.”
Alizeh Shah ended her candid remarks by appealing for respect and empathy—especially toward women navigating male-dominated, often exploitative industries. “Some producers just want me out of the game,” she said, but vowed to continue speaking up against abuse, setting a precedent for transparency in Pakistan’s entertainment world.
