Aliya Fakhri, the 43-year-old sister of Bollywood actress Nargis Fakhri, has been arrested in connection with the brutal murders of her ex-boyfriend Edward Jacobs and his friend Anastasia Ettienne in Queens, New York.
The incident occurred on the morning of November 2, when Aliya allegedly set fire to a two-story garage where Jacobs and Ettienne were staying. Witnesses reported hearing her shout, “You’re all going to die today,” moments before the building was engulfed in flames.
Ettienne managed to run downstairs but returned to alert Jacobs, who was still asleep. Tragically, both victims were unable to escape in time and died from smoke inhalation and thermal injuries.
Aliya now faces multiple charges, including four counts of first-degree murder, four counts of second-degree murder, and arson. Authorities believe the act was premeditated, as Aliya had allegedly threatened to burn down Jacobs’ residence following their breakup a year ago. Sources suggest she struggled with rejection after Jacobs ended their relationship and had unsuccessfully tried to reconcile with him.
Jacobs’ mother told The New York Post that her son had firmly rejected Aliya’s attempts to rekindle their relationship, stating, “Like any other person that is being rejected, he was letting her know, ‘I’m done with you.’”
The case has shocked the community, with the gruesome details and its connection to Nargis Fakhri—known for her roles in Rockstar and Housefull 3—drawing significant attention.
Aliya is due back in court on December 9 and faces the possibility of life imprisonment if convicted. The tragedy has left the families and community reeling, as legal proceedings continue to unfold.
