The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has announced plans to install Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) at all major airports across the country, a move aimed at improving convenience and modern banking access for travelers.
According to officials, the PAA has invited leading banks to establish ATM facilities at key airports, including Islamabad International Airport, Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport, Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport, and several others. The initiative will allow passengers to easily withdraw cash, access banking services, and conduct currency transactions within airport terminals.
The installation of ATMs will also extend to regional airports in Peshawar, Quetta, Sukkur, Gwadar, Skardu, and Gilgit, ensuring that travelers in both metropolitan and remote areas can benefit from the same level of service.
This expansion reflects PAA’s broader commitment to improving passenger experience and enhancing financial accessibility across Pakistan’s aviation network.
In addition to the ATM project, the authority has been pursuing various modernization efforts over the past few months.
These include the introduction of biometric e-gates at major international airports to streamline immigration processes and align operations with the government’s broader digital transformation agenda.
Officials noted that the integration of new banking facilities marks a key step in upgrading airport infrastructure and reflects the government’s commitment to providing world-class amenities to travelers.
The initiative is also expected to promote financial inclusion by facilitating smooth currency access for both domestic and foreign visitors. PAA believes that the combination of improved digital infrastructure and better on-ground facilities will significantly enhance the overall travel experience in Pakistan.
With these developments, the country’s airport network is gradually evolving to meet international standards, offering passengers greater convenience and a modernized environment at every stage of their journey.
