Iran has claimed to uncover a drone manufacturing facility in Tehran allegedly operated by Israeli agents, according to reports from local and state media on Monday.
Authorities reportedly discovered over 200 kilograms (approximately 440 pounds) of explosives inside a three-story building said to be used for the assembly and storage of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Iranian sources identified the site as a covert base used by individuals linked to Israel.
Additionally, two individuals suspected of spying for Israel’s intelligence agency, Mossad, were arrested in separate operations. Security forces reportedly seized explosives, components for 23 drones, and launching systems during the raids.
In a related development, another individual accused of being a Mossad operative was executed following a criminal trial and conviction by Iran’s Supreme Court.
This development comes amid rising tensions between Iran and Israel. The situation escalated sharply after Israeli airstrikes last Friday targeted Iran’s nuclear and missile infrastructure, resulting in the deaths of senior military officials and scientists. In retaliation, Iran launched ballistic missiles at Israeli targets, causing casualties and damage to infrastructure.
