My own experience has taught me that a person’s skin colour still affects the kinds of roles they can obtain.

The Bollywood actor of French descent admitted that despite taking on a variety of roles, she often got cast as the stereotypical rich girl.

“I feel quite frustrated by how people perceive me, saying things like, ‘I think you will completely ace this role because you play a psychotic in it. Naturally, I can only play these upper-class characters because of the colour of my skin,” she said.
“I am aware of an actor with a dusky complexion who is consistently cast in maid roles. She finds that annoying. Everyone has been compartmentalised. I’m waiting for the right opportunity to present itself so I can stretch myself,” she continued.
She claimed to be acquainted with a dark-skinned actor who frequently portrays a maid. That annoys Kalki Koechlin, who finds it.
The actress is optimistic about Goldfish’s upcoming release, in which she will play Deepti Maritime’s dementia-stricken daughter.
