ISLAMABAD: The Accountability Court Karachi has issued bailable arrest warrants for 10 accused, including Bahria Town Chairman Malik Riaz, Ali Riaz, and Zain Malik, over the illegal allotment of land to Bahria Town.
During the hearing, several suspects, including Manzoor Qadir Kaka, Javed Hanif, Ziauddin, and Agha Maqsood, appeared before the court. However, the investigation officer informed the court that 10 accused had failed to respond to the summons. Additionally, Malik Riaz remains an absconder in two separate references filed in Rawalpindi.
Legal Developments
Advocate Shaukat Hayat confirmed that four accused—Nishat, Shoaib, and Mustafiz among them—have already secured bail, while two others have obtained a restraining order from the Sindh High Court.
Meanwhile, Mahmood Akhtar Naqvi, who identified himself as the plaintiff, requested copies of the reference. However, defense lawyers objected, arguing that he was not a named party in the case and should instead approach the NAB chairman.
The court ordered that copies be provided to the accused and adjourned proceedings until April 15.
Following the hearing, a heated exchange broke out between Naqvi and the investigation officer, adding further tension to the high-profile case.
