ABU DHABI: Operations at the Habshan gas facilities in Abu Dhabi were suspended on Thursday after a fire broke out at the site, officials said.
The Abu Dhabi media office confirmed that emergency teams were immediately called in to respond. No injuries were reported at the Habshan facility itself.
In a separate incident in the Ajban area, falling debris from intercepted threats injured 12 people. Six Nepalese and five Indian nationals sustained moderate injuries, while one Nepalese worker was critically wounded.
Second Incident in Recent Days
This is the second time in less than two weeks that the Habshan gas facilities have been affected. On March 19, the site was temporarily shut down after debris from intercepted missiles fell on the area. The nearby Bab oil field was also struck on the same day, though no casualties were reported then.
The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs had strongly condemned the Iranian attack on key energy infrastructure, including Habshan and the Bab oil field.
Authorities have not yet given a timeline for when operations at Habshan will resume.
