Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan arrived in Pakistan on Thursday at the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
President Asif Ali Zardari, First Lady Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif welcomed the dignitary at the Nur Khan Airbase in Rawalpindi. Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar was also present on the occasion.
Live footage showed the prime minister holding an umbrella for himself and the Abu Dhabi crown prince as rain poured over the garrison city.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs highlighted that the visit signifies the “deep-rooted fraternal ties” between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates, reflecting their shared commitment to enhancing bilateral economic cooperation.
During the visit, the crown prince is set to hold wide-ranging discussions with Pakistani leadership on matters of mutual interest, strengthening historical ties, and promoting economic and investment partnerships.
Several agreements and memorandums of understanding are expected to be signed to enhance the existing framework for long-term collaboration across various sectors. These commitments are anticipated to unlock new opportunities for joint ventures and projects, furthering economic cooperation between the two countries.
The ministry added that Pakistan and the UAE have always enjoyed a relationship built on mutual respect, trust, and shared aspirations.
