Actress Rashmika Mandanna, predominantly known for her work in South Indian cinema, is set to star alongside Bollywood superstar Salman Khan in the upcoming movie “Sikandar.” This collaboration marks the first time Rashmika and Salman will share the screen, and the exciting news was announced by the makers on their social media platforms on May 9th.
Expressing her gratitude for this new opportunity, Rashmika shared the announcement post, stating, “You guys have been asking me for the next update, and here it is.. Surprise!! I am truly grateful and honored to be a part of #Sikandar.”
Directed by AR Murugadoss, renowned for films like “Ghajini” and “Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty,” “Sikandar” will be produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. The movie, featuring Salman as Sikandar, is scheduled to release on EID 2025. Salman had previously announced the film on his social media handles on EID in April, with a pose reading, “Salman Khan in and as Sikandar.”
Reports suggest that filming will commence in May and take place across India and Europe. Pritam, an ace music composer, will score the music for the film.
This movie also marks the reunion of Salman and Sajid Nadiadwala, who have previously delivered superhits such as “Kick,” “Judwaa,” and “Mujhse Shaadi Karogi.” Sajid will produce the film under the Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment banner.
On the work front, Rashmika Mandanna was last seen in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s “Animal,” where she portrayed the role of Geetanjali, the wife of Ranbir Kapoor’s character. The movie, released on December 1, 2023, was a significant box office success.
