Prime Minister Imran Khan has expanded the role of his Special Assistant Dr Waqar Masood and re-designated him as Special Assistant to PM on Finance and Revenues with the status of Minister of State effective immediately. The decision was made on Thursday and the notification was released on Friday.
After the appointment of the new Minister of Finance Shaukat Tarin it was expected that to bring changes in the ministry with the purpose of bringing a technocrat to the department to run the IMF program more effectively.
Previously, Dr Waqar Masood was only performing the duties of Special Assistant to PM on Revenues.
The government issued a fresh notification and re-designated Dr Waqar Masood as Special Assistant to the PM on Finance and Revenues.
