Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari announced on Saturday that prices of fruits and vegetables have been reduced.
In her statement, Bokhari stated, “The prices of onions, tomatoes, and potatoes have been decreased by Rs29, Rs24, and Rs22 respectively. Other vegetables have also seen a price drop of up to Rs20.”
She added, “The prices of fruits are also declining. This reduction is attributed to the commendable performance of all district administrations in Punjab.”
Bokhari emphasized, “Price control magistrates and teams have been deployed throughout the province. Ensuring compliance with the government rate list is a top priority.”
“All Deputy Commissioners (DCs), Assistant Commissioners (ACs), and commissioners regularly inspect the markets. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz is committed to providing affordable food and vegetables to the people. Maryam Nawaz is a representative of the people,” she continued.
“The public has entrusted us with the responsibility of addressing their issues. We are determined to meet their expectations,” Bokhari affirmed.
Gold prices in Pakistan decline following a significant surge:
Gold rates in Pakistan experienced a decrease on Saturday following a surge the previous day, resulting in the price of 24-karat gold dropping to Rs244,400 per tola, down Rs600.
Dealers noted a similar decline in the price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold, which decreased by Rs514 to Rs209,534. Additionally, the price of 10 grams of 22-karat gold also rose, reaching Rs192,072.
These fluctuations are closely tied to changes in the value of the US Dollar, highlighting the interplay between currency values and gold prices and illustrating the influence of global economic factors on local gold markets.
The price of 24-karat silver remained steady at Rs2,650. Internationally, the price of gold also decreased by $6, reaching $2,337 per ounce.
