PTI senator has outlined prerequisites for negotiations with the government

Opposition Leader in the Senate, Shibli Faraz, stated on Friday that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is open to conditional talks with the coalition government led by the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz, as reported.

During an informal interaction with the media, Shibli Faraz expressed the PTI’s readiness to engage in dialogue with any party, including the federal government, for the betterment of Pakistan.

However, he emphasized that talks can only proceed if the government creates a conducive environment for negotiations.

Faraz stressed that for talks to progress, political cases must be withdrawn, and the principles of the rule of law and the constitution must be upheld. He demanded the release of PTI founder Imran Khan, women, and political prisoners, while also asserting that legal cases should proceed if they are genuine.

Additionally, the PTI senator emphasized the importance of political freedom and called for an end to political victimization by the government.

Faraz noted that the PTI recently conducted intra-party elections for the third time, but objections were raised regarding the polls once again. He warned that political stability cannot be achieved in such an environment.

Faraz expressed disappointment over the internal divisions and conflicting perspectives within the Pakistan Muslim League (N). He singled out Rana Sanaullah, alleging that his stance differed from that of others.

Additionally, Shibli Faraz assured that the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the chairmanship of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) would soon be resolved.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan refuted claims of receiving any messages for dialogue or engaging in secret discussions with the current government.

Gohar Khan reiterated that imprisoned PTI founder Imran Khan confirmed not receiving any invitations for talks. He stated, “We will publicly acknowledge any invitation for dialogue if received.”

Furthermore, the PTI chairman dismissed the possibility of holding talks with the current government and affirmed that his party would not engage in any clandestine negotiations.
