Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif suspends FBR Inland Revenue chief and other senior officials

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif took action against the deliberate delay in taxes by suspending the Inland Revenue Islamabad chief commissioner and other officials on Tuesday.

Expressing concern, the Prime Minister stated, “The national exchequer is losing hundreds of billions of rupees due to legal disputes.”

He emphasized that he would not tolerate any negligence or shortcuts in this matter.

“I am personally overseeing tax system reforms as part of our commitment to the public,” PM Shehbaz assured.

Highlighting the importance of efforts for the betterment of the masses, he stressed the need to increase revenue to safeguard every penny of the people.

Notably, tax disputes involving hundreds of billions of rupees have stuck up due to different reasons, including negligence of the FBR officials that led to the suspension of Inland Revenue Commissioner and others.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister emphasized the effectiveness of the Chinese language as a global communication tool.

In connection with Chinese Language Day, he noted that even the United Nations (UN) has officially recognized the importance of the Chinese language.

Acknowledging the increasing popularity of Chinese language learning in Pakistan, PM Shehbaz stated, “More people are embracing Chinese language studies.”

He affirmed that comprehensive steps are being taken to promote Chinese language and literature in the country, expressing optimism that this would bring the people of both nations even closer.
