PTI’s Shibli nominated as opposition leader in senate

Lahore: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has chosen Senator Shibli Faraz as their contender for the role of Opposition Leader in the Upper House, following instructions from PTI founder Imran Khan.

In accordance with this decision, the party’s senators have officially submitted a proposal to the Senate Secretariat, expressing their support for Shibli’s candidacy. This nomination is backed by all 19 PTI senators.

After a meeting with Imran Khan at Adiala Jail, Sunni Ittehad Council Chairman Sahibzada Muhammad Hamid Raza shared with the media that Senator Shibli Faraz has been designated as the Leader of the Opposition in the Senate, as per Imran Khan’s directives.

In the meeting with Imran, it was agreed upon that the recently established six-party opposition alliance, Tehreek Tahaffuz-e-Ain, which initiated their protest campaign in Balochistan last week, will also organize rallies throughout the remainder of the nation.

The SIC, a member of the alliance, is organizing a gathering of the six opposition parties in Lahore on April 29th to strategize and plan for a nationwide launch.

Meanwhile, Imran Khan has refuted previous claims about Saudi Arabia’s involvement in any attempt to change Pakistan’s government.

He emphasized the assistance received from Saudi Arabia during his administration, mentioning instances like hosting the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation conference and providing financial aid.

PTI Central Information Secretary Raoof Hassan emphasized that the struggle for constitutional supremacy and the rule of law is nearing its conclusion, as he remains optimistic about their success. He mentioned the likelihood of favorable advancements soon and reaffirmed the expectation of Imran Khan’s release from imprisonment.

Imran Khan’s insistence on a proactive media approach was highlighted, as they plan to tackle unaddressed subjects. PTI member Muzzammil Aslam explained Imran Khan’s refutation of claims attributed to him concerning the Saudi government.

The discussions encompassed Pakistan’s economic status, highlighting recent developments in IMF negotiations for a new program and international donors committing $1.8 billion at a recent Khyber Pakhtunkhwa conference. Imran emphasized the significance of upholding the rule of law to encourage trust and investment.
