Bushra Bibi’s sister voices worries about her sister’s jail treatment and expresses dissatisfaction with PTI’s legal representatives

Maryam Riaz Wattoo, who is the sibling of Bushra Bibi, the ex-wife of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, has voiced significant worry regarding her sister’s incarceration conditions. During interviews with private television networks, Wattoo brought attention to several concerning matters.

Concerns Over Health and Well-being

Wattoo asserted that Bushra Bibi experienced restrictions on her medical tests and family visits. She mentioned her encounter with Bushra two months prior, during which around 10-12 police officers were present.

Wattoo expressed her worries about Bushra Bibi’s situation in prison, stating that she was possibly given tainted food multiple times and was denied access to a doctor for 10-15 days upon her request.

Criticism of PTI Lawyers and Internal Divisions

Wattoo expressed her disapproval towards PTI’s lawyers for their inactivity in the Nikah case, highlighting continuous postponements and lack of communication. She stated, “The lawyers are not attending the Nikah case, and dates are repeatedly extended.”

She added, “There is no word from our party’s legal representatives. The cause for the party’s division remains unknown. Even after receiving a letter from the judges, no precise actions were taken. Hamid Khan, Latif Khosa, and Ali Zafar are also silent. The voters should hold these individuals responsible.”

She underscored the importance of the party regaining its authority and openly voiced her annoyance towards those in PTI who were prepared to compromise on Imran Khan’s core values.

Asserting her Right to Speak Out:

Wattoo explained that, although she doesn’t hold an official role in the PTI, her membership allows her to express her opinions and concerns. Furthermore, she demonstrated respect towards the sisters of the PTI’s founder.
