Federal Government Slashes Roti and Naan Prices in Islamabad to Ease Consumer Burden

Following recent developments in Punjab, the federal government has announced a decrease in the prices of roti and naan in Islamabad.

As per a notification issued by the capital’s district administration, the new price of roti has been set at Rs16, while naan will now cost Rs20. This move aims to ease the financial burden on consumers and is applicable to both 120-gram roti and naan.

Effective immediately, this notification demonstrates the federal government’s commitment to addressing concerns about the affordability of essential food items. It showcases the proactive approach of Islamabad authorities in ensuring fair pricing and accessibility for residents.

The Islamabad deputy commissioner has instructed assistant commissioners and price control magistrates to diligently enforce these new pricing regulations across the capital.

With these revised prices in place, consumers can anticipate relief in their daily expenses, particularly concerning essential food items like bread and naan. This initiative is expected to positively impact households in Islamabad and contribute to improved affordability of basic necessities.

In a similar move, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz recently announced a reduction in the price of roti to Rs16 per piece, effective immediately. Taking to social media platform X, Maryam Nawaz expressed gratitude, stating, “Alhamdulillah, the Punjab government has reduced the price of roti to Rs16 per piece from today.”
