Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim takes oath for his position at Peshawar High Court  as chief justice

During a solemn ceremony at the Peshawar High Court on Monday morning, Acting Chief Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim was officially sworn in as the chief justice.

The oath was administered by esteemed Senior Judge Justice Ijaz Anwar. This significant occasion signifies a crucial moment in the judicial history of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Background of Justice Ibrahim

On the 2nd of December, 1969, in Peshawar, Justice Ibrahim commenced his remarkable journey in the legal field.

He obtained his law degree from Khyber Law College, Peshawar, in 1992. Later, he received the necessary permissions to practice law from the High Court in 1995 and the Supreme Court in 2008.

Throughout his professional journey, he has held multiple roles, such as an assistant and additional advocate general for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Career Highlights

Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim’s impact on the legal domain surpasses his professional work. He served as the president of Peshawar High Court Bar in 2013, showcasing his leadership skills.

His exceptional knowledge and dedication were acknowledged when he was appointed as an additional judge of the high court in 2016.

This recognition further solidified in 2018, as he became a permanent judge, demonstrating his continuous growth in the field.

Upon the retirement of the previous Peshawar High Court’s chief justice, Justice Ibrahim stepped in as the acting chief justice.

During his time in this position, he has been committed to maintaining the principles of justice and adhering to the rule of law.
