Maryam Nafees says she will not work in Dramas Scripted by Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar

Renowned Pakistani actress Maryam Nafees Jabbar has recently taken a firm stand against participating in any project scripted by Khalilur Rehman Qamar, a well-known writer in the industry. During a segment on a private TV show, she articulated her decision clearly and unambiguously.

When asked about her stance by the host, Ahmed Ali Butt, Maryam Nafees explained that her objection was not directed towards Qamar’s dramas themselves but rather towards his personal viewpoints and public statements. She emphasized that her decision was rooted in principles, stating, “It’s not about his dramas; it’s about his views and certain statements he’s made.”

Maryam Nafees was keen to convey that her position was not driven by any personal animosity towards Qamar. She expressed respect for him as an individual, noting, “I don’t have any personal issues with Mr. Qamar. I don’t think he’s a bad person, nor do I judge anyone.”

However, she did not shy away from expressing her reservations about certain perspectives held by Qamar, particularly those related to women’s rights. While she maintained a respectful demeanor, she made it clear that her decision was guided by her commitment to aligning herself with projects and individuals whose values resonate with her own beliefs.

In essence, Maryam Nafees Jabbar’s decision reflects her integrity and principles as an artist. By choosing not to work on projects scripted by Khalilur Rehman Qamar, she sends a message about the importance of standing by one’s convictions, even in the face of industry norms and pressures.
