On Friday, the Emirates Cricket Board imposed a ban on right-handed batsman Usman Khan.
This suspension led to him being excluded from any tournaments, whether hosted or endorsed, by the ECB.
In the past, Usman demonstrated his exceptional skills as a foreign player during Pakistan Super League (PSL) season nine. More recently, he openly expressed his wish to represent Pakistan.
After achieving remarkable success in PSL 9, which included setting a record by scoring two centuries during the same tournament, Usman was invited to participate in a fitness camp at Kakul.
Nevertheless, the ECB’s press statement portrayed a contrasting scenario. As per the ECB, Usman allegedly violated his commitments to the board by misrepresenting his intentions to participate in the UAE team.
The ECB emphasized Usman’s involvement in the International League T20 Season 2 and the execution of an employment agreement with him, which were both intended to help him become eligible to play for the UAE on an international level.
The current training of Multan Sultans’ batsman is taking place at Kakul, under the watchful guidance of the Pakistan Army.
As he gears up for the possibility of being chosen in the upcoming series against New Zealand, where he is expected to strengthen the middle-order for the team led by Babar Azam, the future of his international cricket career remains uncertain.
