Inter-Club One-Day Tournament

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has unveiled plans for an Inter-Club one-day tournament, aiming to reignite the fervor of cricket at the grassroots level across the nation.

Set to commence in April, the tournament will span 16 regions throughout the country, offering an exciting platform for aspiring cricketers.

According to the official announcement by the PCB, the tournament will adhere to the regulations outlined in the PCB constitution of 2014.

All registered cricket clubs will have the opportunity to participate, emphasizing inclusivity and the promotion of cricket at the grassroots level.

In a significant move, the PCB will also facilitate the registration process for new clubs, inviting interested entities to apply for membership in the District/Zonal Cricket Association.

Upon approval, these new clubs will enjoy the privileges outlined in the model constitution of the relevant association, fostering greater participation and diversity in the tournament.

Each participating club is slated to engage in a minimum of three matches during the pool stage, ensuring ample opportunities for talent to shine.

The tournament will be conducted in accordance with PCB rules and regulations governing one-day matches, ensuring a fair and competitive environment for all teams.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the initiative, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi emphasized the pivotal role of club cricket in nurturing talent and fostering a competitive cricket culture.

He underscored Pakistan’s rich history of producing gifted players through grassroots cricket, highlighting the PCB’s commitment to revitalizing this tradition.

Chairman Naqvi expressed confidence that the Inter-Club one-day tournament will serve as a breeding ground for future cricket stars, providing a platform for talented players to showcase their skills and ascend through the ranks of national cricket.

With its emphasis on inclusivity, competitiveness, and talent development, the PCB’s Inter-Club one-day tournament represents a significant step towards revitalizing grassroots cricket and cultivating the next generation of cricketing talent in Pakistan.
