New Political Party
Disgruntled PML-N leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has announced plans for the launch of a new political party within the next two to three months, expressing doubts about the credibility of current leaders to address national issues.
In an interview with Shaukat Piracha on the show Rubaroo, Abbasi disclosed ongoing efforts and discussions aimed at establishing this new political entity.
Months prior to the elections, Abbasi, along with two other politicians, spearheaded seminars titled ‘Reimagining Pakistan’ across various cities to raise awareness about the country’s pressing issues.
Despite skepticism surrounding their initiative amidst the impending elections, Abbasi, along with party member Miftah Ismail and former PPP senator Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar, persisted in their efforts.
Khokhar, in an interview with Hamid Mir, acknowledged reaching out to various politicians to form the new party.
Confirming the impending launch of the new political party by May or June, Abbasi clarified that he would not be leading it and discussions were underway to incorporate leaders from diverse regions of the country.
He emphasized that his departure from electoral politics did not equate to an exit from the political arena altogether.
Abbasi underscored the party’s intentions, stating that they sought to offer an alternative platform and thought amid the prevalent political landscape dominated by PPP, PML-N, and PTI.
Expressing dissatisfaction with the current state of affairs, Abbasi emphasized the need for a new party, stating that the populace was disheartened by the existing political entities.
He emphasized that the objective was not merely to attain power or ministries but to present a fresh approach to governance.
