PPP Leaders Criticise Government’s Handling of IMF Deal

Islamabad: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Shazia Marri voiced her concerns on Monday, urging the government to involve its allies in discussions regarding the International Monetary Fund (IMF) deal. Marri lambasted political adversaries, recalling past instances where individuals preferred self-harm over engaging with international lenders.

Highlighting recent developments, Marri criticized the government for conceding to all conditions imposed by the IMF, emphasizing the need for transparency and collaboration with coalition partners.

In a similar vein, PPP leader Nasir Hussain Shah condemned the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder’s decision to correspond with the IMF, accusing the party of harboring intentions to disrupt the country’s economy. Shah expressed dismay over the PTI’s alleged disregard for national interests, denouncing their actions as irresponsible and detrimental to Pakistan’s stability.

Shah urged legal action against the PTI, citing their perceived defiance of state interests as grounds for intervention. He emphasized the need for unity and collective action to counteract attempts at destabilization.

The PPP leaders’ remarks underscore growing tensions within the political landscape, with concerns mounting over the government’s handling of economic affairs and its implications for national stability. As discussions surrounding the IMF deal continue, calls for greater consultation and accountability resonate among opposition voices, highlighting the need for a unified approach to address pressing economic challenges.
