The former Chief Minister of KP, belonging to the ex-PTI government, allegedly earned approximately 2.5 million rupees daily from one of his mines, according to Marwat. He also mentioned that the decision to keep Imran in jail rather than Bani Gala was not his personal choice. The advocate further claims that during their tenure, the previous PTI administration in KP was implicated in corruption.
Senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and parliamentarian Sher Afzal Marwat, known for his candid nature and sometimes contentious remarks, acknowledged on Sunday that corruption was prevalent in the previous PTI administration in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). During a live discussion on X Spaces, he asserted, “In the former PTI government, people did not just become billionaires, but they turned into trillionaires through corruption.”
Regarding a query about the narrative surrounding former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s detention at Adiala Jail rather than his residence in Bani Gala, Marwat clarified that he was not the one who initiated this discussion.
The former Chief Minister of KP, Mahmood Khan, reportedly makes Rs2.5 million daily from one of his mines now. Marwat continues to draw attention due to his candid and contentious statements.
In a recent program, the MNA discussed his party’s current situation. He explained that the first error occurred when Imran Khan decided to form a political alliance with the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Sherani group. This alliance could not be finalized as both parties failed to agree on seat adjustments for the February 8 general elections.
He continued by stating that forming an alliance with the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) was their second significant blunder, and as a result, the previous ruling party lost 80 seats due to these erroneous choices. This declaration angered the PTI’s partners in the assemblies, prompting SIC Chairman Sahibzada Hamid Raza to caution PTI leaders against airing their internal disputes in public.
He mentioned that he possessed substantial information but chose not to disclose it out of loyalty to the party’s founder, Imran Khan.
The SIC chief strongly disagreed with Marwat’s remarks and urged PTI to address their internal matters. Via communication channel X, Raza suggested that PTI members should resolve their disputes within their group, as the choice to join SIC was made by Khan.
