The Pakistan deaf cricket team, under the leadership of Zaka Ahmed Qureshi, achieved a remarkable feat by emerging as the champions of the Deaf International Cricket Council (DICC) T20 World Cup 2024.
The tournament, which took place at the Cricket Vision Centre in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates (UAE), unfolded from March 6 to 12, witnessing the participation of six nations: Pakistan, Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka, South Africa, and Australia.
Displaying exceptional prowess, the Pakistan deaf cricket team remained undefeated throughout the competition, ultimately securing the coveted DICC T20 World Cup trophy. Their journey culminated in a resounding victory over Sri Lanka in the final match, where they dominated with an impressive 88-run margin. After setting a formidable total of 151 runs, the Pakistani bowlers dismantled the Sri Lankan batting lineup, restricting them to a mere 63 runs in 16.5 overs.
Chairman PCB Syed Mohsin Naqvi extended heartfelt congratulations to the triumphant Pakistan deaf cricket team, praising their stellar performance in the final encounter against Sri Lanka.
