ISLAMABAD: In the diplomatic arena of Pakistan, a crucial meeting unfolded between representatives of Pakistan and Bahrain, resonating with a shared call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and an urgent appeal for humanitarian assistance, particularly directed towards the vulnerable Palestinian populace amid the auspicious month of Ramadan.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif engaged in fruitful discussions with General Sheikh Mohammad Bin Isa Bin Salman Al Khalifa, the esteemed Commander of the National Guard of the Kingdom of Bahrain, underlining the enduring brotherly relations and commendable defense collaboration between the two nations.
During the exchange, General Sheikh Mohammad conveyed warm regards from King Sheikh Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and Bahrain’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Sheikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
In reciprocation, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif warmly welcomed General Sheikh Mohammad, expressing gratitude for Bahrain’s steadfast support and congratulatory messages following his re-election. He expressed confidence in the further strengthening of the deep-rooted ties between Pakistan and Bahrain in the foreseeable future.
Touching upon economic prospects, the Prime Minister envisioned a substantial expansion in bilateral trade with the imminent implementation of the Pakistan-GCC Free Trade Agreement, foreseeing the potential for trade volume to soar beyond the existing one billion dollar mark.
Underlining the significance of the ongoing construction of the King Hamad Nursing Hospital in Islamabad, the Prime Minister hailed it as a symbol of Bahrain’s benevolence towards the people of Pakistan.
Reflecting on past diplomatic engagements, the Prime Minister eagerly anticipated the future visit of the Bahraini King, reinforcing the commitment to fostering closer bilateral relations.
