Naseem Shah Fined for Stump-Kicking Incident in PSL Thriller

Islamabad United’s pace bowler, Naseem Shah, has incurred a 10% fine of his match fee for violating the Pakistan Super League’s (PSL) Code of Conduct during the team’s recent match against Multan Sultans.

Naseem Shah’s breach occurred when he kicked the stumps after the final ball of Multan Sultans’ innings, leading to a charge under Article 2.2 of the PSL’s Code of Conduct, specifically dealing with the abuse of cricket equipment or clothing, ground equipment, or fixtures and fittings.

Shah promptly pleaded guilty to the charge, and the on-field umpires, Ruchira Palliyaguruge and Muhammad Asif, along with match referee Roshan Mahanama, imposed the 10% fine.

Islamabad United emerged victorious in a thrilling high-scoring contest against Multan Sultans, successfully chasing down a target of 229 on the last ball of the inning. This triumph secured their position as the third team to qualify for the PSL playoffs, adding significance to the overall outcome of the match.

In a parallel development, Multan Sultans also faced consequences for maintaining a slow over-rate during the same match. The team was found to be one over short of their target, resulting in each player receiving a 10% fine of their match fee.

This disciplinary measure aligns with Article 2.22 of the HBL PSL Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel. These incidents serve as reminders of the importance of upholding the integrity of the game and adhering to established conduct guidelines in professional cricket.
