According to reliable sources, PML-N is planning to propose a collaboration with PPP by inviting them to join the federal cabinet.
ISLAMABAD – According to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Attaullah Tarar, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is anticipated to conclude the formation of his cabinet within the next 24 hours. This announcement was made on Saturday.
Nawaz instructs the Prime Minister to expedite the formation of the cabinet, according to sources. He states, “It is imperative to address the rising inflation.” Reports suggest that all issues with the MQM-P have been resolved, as per PML-N’s Atta Tarar.
In a casual conversation with journalists in Islamabad, the PML-N leader disclosed that he believes all issues have been resolved with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P). Furthermore, it is reported that PML-N’s chief, Nawaz Sharif, has instructed the prime minister to promptly finalize the federal cabinet and initiate the execution of the party’s manifesto.
During a crucial gathering led by the three-time former prime minister, key instructions were given in the presence of PML-N senior leadership, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The meeting encompassed discussions on the current political and economic landscape, as well as national and international affairs, and other pertinent matters.
At the moment, the PML-N supremo highlighted to the attendees that there are elevated expectations from their party. He further emphasized that the new government is confronting challenges as immense as mountains. In regards to inflation, sources mentioned that Nawaz underscored the necessity to address the soaring issue.
Expressing concern over the difficulties faced by the new government, including rising inflation, Nawaz stated, “Prime Minister, it is crucial to form the cabinet promptly and commence implementing the [party’s] manifesto.”
During the gathering, discussions focused on incorporating PPP members into the forthcoming federal cabinet. Prime Minister Shehbaz shared his intentions to converse with Zardari post his election as president. As per sources, the PM mentioned, “I will request Asif Ali Zardari once he assumes the role of president.”
According to the sources, it is anticipated that the ministries of defence, foreign affairs, and finance will be assigned to two prominent PML-N members, Khawaja Asif and Ishaq Dar, as well as a well-known banker, Muhammad Aurangzeb. The information was provided by the sources.
Similarly, PML-N’s Secretary General Ahsan Iqbal is expected to be assigned the ministries of planning, development, and privatisation, as per the sources. Insiders also disclosed that Tarar might be appointed to the information and broadcasting ministry, while another distinguished PML-N member, Rana Sanaullah (former interior minister), is anticipated to serve as Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) for interior affairs.
