ISLAMABAD: Italy has commenced its visa service operations from Lahore and aims to expand this service to other major cities across Pakistan in the near future.
The announcement was made by Augusto Palmeiri, the First Secretary of the Italian Embassy, during his address at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI).
Present at the event were LCCI President Kashif Anwar, Senior Vice President Zafar Mahmood Chaudhry, and executive member Chaudhry Khadim.
Palmeiri underscored the significance of Lahore, being the first city he visited in his official capacity as embassy secretary.
He emphasized the need to bolster the ties between Italy and Pakistan, not only in terms of general cooperation but also in business ventures.
Furthermore, he extended an invitation to attend upcoming expos, considering it as the initial step towards enhancing business relations.
President Kashif Anwar of LCCI acknowledged the historical collaboration between the chamber and the Embassy of Italy, marked by the signing of an MoU in March 2018. He expressed the chamber’s willingness to renew this agreement to further solidify the bilateral ties.
