In a recent announcement, the Chief Police Officer (CPO) declared that three terrorists were captured and relocated to an extremely secretive and secure location.
In a remarkable collaborative effort, the police and the Counter Terrorism Department in Rawalpindi pulled off a daring operation on Wednesday night, successfully foiling a potentially devastating terrorist attack aimed at Adiala Jail. Chief Police Officer (CPO) Khalid Saeed Hamdani triumphantly announced that a catastrophic event had been skillfully averted, thanks to the combined forces’ valiant efforts. He further revealed that the three captured terrorists, all hailing from Afghanistan, are now securely held in an undisclosed, highly protected ‘safe’ location.
The spokesperson mentioned that authorities carried out an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the region, following the receipt of crucial information suggesting the presence of terrorists in the area.
According to the authorities, an extensive arsenal consisting of automatic firearms and a substantial amount of ammunition were seized from the apprehended terrorists. Alongside, they were found in possession of grenades, homemade explosive devices, and detailed maps of Adiala Jail. Following the arrests, law enforcement agencies conducted a thorough search operation in the vicinity of the jail.
A recently surfaced video depicted a nocturnal scene at an undisclosed location, where a convoy of police and CTD officials had parked by the roadside. Armed personnel then entered an apparently abandoned piece of land, embarking on a search operation. It is noteworthy that Adiala Jail currently houses notable prisoners such as former Prime Minister Imran Khan, ex-Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, and previous Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi.
