Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Vows Zero Tolerance for Hoarders

Islamabad: During a press conference held at the CM House in Lahore, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz declared zero tolerance for hoarders while addressing the issue of price control and employment opportunities in the province.

CM Maryam emphasized the need for an effective system for price control, stating that the Punjab government lacks direct control over prices but is committed to improving mechanisms for price regulation. She highlighted the disparity in prices, especially during the month of Ramazan, and expressed determination to address the issue.

Furthermore, CM Maryam reiterated the government’s commitment to creating employment opportunities as part of its agenda while warning against any attempts to sow unrest under the guise of politics. She emphasized that strict action would be taken against those who disturb public peace.

In a recent move, CM Maryam imposed a blanket ban on appointments and transfers of government officials across Punjab. The ban requires special permission from the Chief Minister House for any transfers or appointments, reflecting the government’s efforts to streamline administrative processes and prevent undue influence in personnel matters.

The statements and actions of CM Maryam Nawaz underscore the government’s resolve to combat hoarding, ensure price stability, and promote transparency in administrative affairs across Punjab.
