Islamabad: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has granted permission to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan to hold a one-on-one meeting with his lawyers in Adiala Jail, as reported by ARY News.
According to the details, Imran Khan’s plea was addressed by the court, directing the jail administration to allow his counsel to meet him privately in accordance with the jail manual. The court specified that no jail security personnel should be present during the meeting, and Imran Khan’s legal team can bring pencil and paper to the meeting.
Moreover, the IHC approved another plea allowing a meeting between the former prime minister and his political advisors.
Earlier, PTI leader Omar Ayub Khan was granted permission by an anti-terrorism court to visit Imran Khan in Adiala Jail. However, Omar Ayub later stated that he was denied access by the jail authorities.
Imran Khan, currently detained in Adiala Jail, faces legal challenges related to cases involving Toshakhana, Cipher, and illegal nikah. Since his removal from office in April 2022 through a no-confidence motion, Imran Khan has encountered several legal battles. Nonetheless, his party emerged as the largest group in the National Assembly following the February 8 elections.
The developments in Imran Khan’s legal proceedings and his party’s political standing continue to draw attention amid ongoing political dynamics in Pakistan.
