Former Sikh soldiers have issued a stern warning to the Modi government, cautioning, “Any harm to us will prompt our soldiers to vacate the borders, allowing China and Pakistan to reach Delhi within 10 minutes.”
In response, Sikh leaders have asserted, “We are compelled to take action now, and the Modi government will bear responsibility for the consequences.”
The “Delhi Chalo” march has persisted for the past 8 days, with farmer leaders rejecting the Modi government’s proposed new system.
Despite facing severe police brutality, protesters remain resolute in their demand for their rights.
Moreover, the demonstrators have vowed to prolong their protest until their demands are addressed, even after their entry into Delhi on February 21.
The protesting farmers argue, “The government has failed to fulfill its promises made in 2020.”
It’s worth noting that in 2020, thousands of farmers protested against contentious agricultural reforms on the outskirts of Delhi, ultimately compelling the Modi government to rescind the new laws.
