Will.i.am, the rapper decided to turn the face mask-a necessity in the pandemic- into a high tech fashion statement.
In collaboration with Honeywell and Jose Fernandez, Will.i.am designed a ‘XUPERMASK’. Jose Fernandez is responsible for designing Elon Musk’s SpaceX suits, therefore one can imagine how tech heavy the masks would be.
The Black Eyed Peas member announced this week that he’s teaming up with Honeywell to launch XUPERMASK, a $299 mask which is going to feature a ton of bells and whistles.
The masks look like a cross between a gas mask and an alien space helmet and feature Bluetooth connectivity, LED day glow lights, noise-cancelling audio and microphone capabilities, seven hours of battery life and a magnetic ear bud docking system, along with dual three-speed fans and HEPA filters.
The XUPERMASK also comes with a carry case, three months of HEPA filters, different-sized ear tips and a charging cable.
Over the years, Will.i.am has invested in a number of tech companies including Tesla and Beats Electronics. He also owns a company that goes by the name of i.am+ and focuses on wearable products.
The mask will be available at www.xupermask.com from April 8.
