The new movie of Prabhas, Salaar Part 1: Ceasefire has broken the record of Bollywoodโs king Shah Rukhโs Dunki with its debut as the movie collected Rs95 crore net domestic on its opening day.
Shah Rukh’s “Dunki,” which was released on Thursday, fell short of expectations, earning only Rs35 crore at the box office and failing to outperform Prabhas’s earlier film “Adipurush.”
“Salaar,” released on Friday in five languages – Hindi, Telugu, English, Tamil, and Kannada – marked a significant comeback for Prabhas, renowned for his role in “Baahubali.”
The film not only surpassed Shah Rukh’s biggest opener, “Jawan,” which earned Rs75 crore on its opening day, but also claimed the second spot in the top 5 premieres in the US and North America, earning 2.60 million, just behind “RRR” with Rs3.46 million.
According to early estimates from the film’s producers, Hombale Films, “Salaar” has achieved a worldwide gross of Rs175 crore. The clash at the box office with Shah Rukh Khan’s “Dunki,” directed by Rajkumar Hirani, resulted in “Salaar” emerging victorious, as “Dunki” collected Rs30 crores on its first day.
Notably, “Salaar” is directed by Prashanth Neel, the director of the highly successful “KGF I and II.” “KGF II” opened with Rs116 crore nett in India and went on to surpass Rs1000 crore worldwide.
Dunki Gears Up For Epic Box Office Showdown With โน10 Crore Advance Booking
In another development, as the highly anticipated release of Shah Rukh Khanโs latest film, Dunki, approaches, the Bollywood superstar is poised to add another blockbuster to his illustrious career in the closing days of 2023.
Helmed by the renowned director Rajkumar Hirani, Dunki is scheduled to grace the silver screen on December 21, 2023, promising audiences a laughter-packed cinematic experience.

The current buzz surrounding the film centers on its booking, which has amassed an impressive collection of over 10 crores in just one day. This surge comes on the heels of a remarkable 65% growth in pre-booking sales, further solidifying Dunkiโs stronghold on audience anticipation.
With one day remaining before its official release, industry insiders express optimism that Dunkiโs numbers will reach promising heights. However, the air is not without tension, as Dunki faces formidable competition from Prabhas and Prashanth Neelโs action-packed thriller, Salaar, also slated for release on the same day.
Salaar, leading the pre-booking race, has already amassed 13.50 crores in advance sales, setting the stage for a compelling box office battle.
