Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has expressed that the older politicians neglect current issues and lack plans. During the PPP worker’s convention in Shangla, he emphasized his commitment to seeking assistance directly from the people.
Bilawal Bhutto observed that seasoned politicians are stuck in outdated political practices and arrogance. He highlighted PPP’s historical role in alleviating people’s troubles. According to him, PPP’s competition lies not with other politicians but with challenges such as poverty, unemployment, and inflation.
Learning from his mother, Bilawal Bhutto emphasized a representation style focused on addressing the concerns of the poor, rejecting the politics of abuse and social media trends like TikTok.
The former foreign minister urged support for resolving the country’s difficulties, promising positive change. Bilawal Bhutto is scheduled to engage in political activities in Peshawar on December 13, conducting seven-day meetings across the province.
His itinerary includes a visit to Lower Dir on December 9 and addressing a public meeting in Kohat on December 11, all geared toward garnering public support for the upcoming general elections.
Election Schedule Set To Be Issued Within Days, Confirms CEC
In another development, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikander Sultan Raja has announced that extensive preparations for the upcoming general elections are in progress, with the schedule for the 2023 polls set to be released shortly.
In a statement commemorating National Voters Day, the CEC emphasized the Election Commission’s commitment to its constitutional and legal duties, assuring that the commission is fully ready to conduct transparent and peaceful elections.
CEC Raja highlighted ongoing efforts in election preparations, confirming the completion of the printing and distribution of electoral rolls. He mentioned that a notification for the appointment of election staff, including returning officers (ROs) and district returning officers (DROs), will be issued in the coming days.
Amidst heightened political activities and negotiations within the country, as political parties gear up for the elections on February 8, 2023, the Finance Division released Rs17.4 billion to the ECP on Tuesday, dispelling rumors of election delays.
Last week, the ECP finalized the delimitation of constituencies for national and provincial assemblies, paving the way for the imminent announcement of the election schedule.
