KUWAIR CITY/ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Kuwait inked seven agreements and three Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) on Wednesday, aiming to attract substantial investments from Kuwait into diverse sectors across Pakistan.
Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar held discussions with Kuwait’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister, Sheikh Talal Al-Khaled Al-Ahmad Al Sabah.
General Syed Asim Munir NI(M), Chief of Army Staff, was also in attendance during this meeting.
Both leaders underscored the profound historical ties between the two nations and emphasized their commitment to elevating these fraternal relations into a mutually beneficial economic partnership.
During the meeting, the signing of seven agreements was witnessed, focusing on drawing multi-billion dollar investments into various sectors of Pakistan.
These sectors include Food Security/Agriculture, Hydel Power, Water Supplies (specifically safe drinking water and support for mining activities), establishment of a Mining Fund to bolster the mineral industry, Development of Technology Zones, and Preservation of Mangroves.
Additionally, MoUs were signed in areas encompassing culture and art, environment, and sustainable development.
Expressing immense satisfaction with the trajectory of their relations, both leaders pledged to maintain close communication and swiftly advance the reinforcement and enhancement of Pakistan-Kuwait ties.
The Prime Minister of Pakistan hailed these agreements with Kuwait as yet another significant achievement attributed to the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) platform, bringing substantial benefits to the country.
