Earlier, Temba Bavuma’s decision to bat under overcast skies backfired as South Africa slumped to 24-4 within 12 overs before a brief rain delay. Miller and Heinrich Klaasen (47) halted the slide with a 95-run partnership, but Head’s double strike tilted the game in Australia’s favor.
Miller reached his century but fell in the same over while attempting another six. India previously secured their spot in the final by defeating New Zealand in the first semi-final on Wednesday, setting the stage for an exciting clash in Ahmedabad on Sunday.
