The Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR), based in New York, has filed a lawsuit against U.S. President Joe Biden, Secretary of State Antony Blinken, and Secretary of Defense Austin. The lawsuit accuses them of failing to prevent and aiding and abetting what the CCR describes as “genocide” in Gaza.

The legal action was initiated on behalf of Palestinian human rights organizations, Palestinians in Gaza, and U.S. citizens with relatives in Gaza. The CCR alleges that the U.S. officials breached their duties under the Genocide Convention and customary international law by not preventing the alleged genocide and by providing support to Israel, including weapons, funds, and diplomatic cover.
The complaint highlights the U.S. government’s unconditional support for Israel amid its military actions in Gaza, citing over 11,000 Palestinians killed, including many civilians and children, since October 8th.
The legal expert William Schabas provided a declaration, identifying Israeli government actions as signs of genocide and asserting the U.S.’s failure to fulfill its duty to prevent genocide.
UN Chief Guterres Calls For Urgent Ceasefire As Gaza Hospital Buries Dead Patients In A Mass Grave
Meanwhile, United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called for an urgent ceasefire as a Gaza hospital buried dead patients in a mass grave.
Guterres was deeply disturbed by the โdramatic loss of lifeโ in several hospitals in the Gaza Strip, his spokesman said.
โIn the name of humanity, the secretary general calls for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire,โ UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric told reporters today.
Earlier, the director of Gazaโs largest hospital, Al-Shifa, revealed on Tuesday that 179 individuals, including infants and patients from the intensive care unit, were laid to rest in a โmass graveโ within the hospital complex.

Due to a shortage of fuel,ย theย hospital was compelled to take this drastic measure. The dire situation also led to bodies scattered in the hospital, with morgues lacking electricity.
