LAHORE/ISLAMABAD: In a short video, you can watch and listen the teenager who killed six members of a family in a fatal road accident in Lahore’s DHA on Saturday.

Traffic police in Lahore recorded a short video of the teenage driver, involved in the tragic car accident. In this video, Afnan narrates how the accident occurred and for how long he had been driving car despite being a teenager.

Police have already registered an FIR against the teenager Afnan Shafqat for killing six in car accident.

Lahore traffic police have shared the video on the social media today with the aim to create awareness among masses and to discourage teenagers involvement in car driving.

Earlier, a tragic incident unfolded in the Defence Housing Authority (DHA), claiming the lives of six family members, including two minors, in a fatal road accident.

The calamity occurred when a speeding car, driven by a teenage boy identified as Afnan Shafqat, collided with the family’s vehicle as they were returning home after visiting relatives.

The victims were identified as Rukhsana Bibi (45), her son Husnain (25), daughter-in-law Ayesha (23), son-in-law Sajjad (30), four-month-old grandson Huzaifa, and granddaughter Anaya (4).

The head of the family, Rafaqat Ali, who was traveling in a separate car, filed a complaint leading to the police lodging a case against Afnan Shafqat.

An eyewitness described the horrifying scene, noting that Afnan’s car collided with the family’s vehicle, causing it to flip multiple times. Rafaqat Ali explained to the police that they were returning from his son’s in-laws’ residence when the tragedy occurred at DHA Phase VII.

The impact was so severe that the vehicle carrying his family members overturned several times and sustained extensive damage.

Upon reaching the accident site, Rafaqat and other relatives discovered their six family members in critical condition. Despite immediate efforts, most succumbed to their injuries on the spot, while others passed away during transportation to the hospital.

Afnan Shafqat was promptly arrested at the scene, with the police subsequently nominating him in the First Information Report (FIR).

There are concerns about reckless driving practices on DHA roads, particularly during weekends, where young individuals, often from affluent families, engage in dangerous stunts, jeopardizing the safety of commuters.

This incident underscores the urgent need for addressing and curbing such hazardous driving behaviors on major roads.
