In a press conference held in Lahore, Rana Sanaullah, leader of the Muslim League (N), expressed optimism about the upcoming 2024 general elections, affirming their potential to secure victory and establish governance in both the federation and Punjab.
Sanaullah highlighted a perceived interruption in Pakistan’s progress, attributing it to a disruptive project. He discussed the challenges faced by the country, referencing a period of upheaval and the subsequent efforts led by Nawaz Sharif to steer the nation out of crises. Sanaullah emphasized the significant public turnout at the October 21 rally, underscoring a united front.
The former interior minister lamented the imposition of turmoil on the country, emphasizing the associated costs. He criticized the current state of affairs, stating that the life of the common man has transitioned from difficult to seemingly impossible. Sanaullah pointed out the nation’s reliance on external financial assistance, noting their dependence on IMF funds.
Sanaullah disclosed ongoing preparations for the upcoming general elections, expressing confidence in securing victory. He outlined plans to address inflation and restore the actual value of the currency once in power.
Additionally, Sanaullah mentioned Nawaz Sharif’s scheduled visits to other provinces, including an upcoming trip to Balochistan, while political activities and consultations are underway in Punjab and Sindh, respectively.

Meanwhile, the opening ceremony of the Pakistan Navy and PLA (Navy) bilateral exercise Sea Guardian-2023 was held at the Pakistan Navy Dockyard, Karachi.
Commander Qingdao Naval Base, Rear Admiral Liang Yang graced the occasion as Guest of Honour. Commander Pakistan Fleet, Vice Admiral Muhammad Faisal Abbasi was also present at the occasion.
