The number of cases in Quetta has now surpassed 60, with two additional individuals, Jahangir (30) from Jinnah Town and Shumail (27) from Kansi Road, diagnosed with the Congo Virus. Both were admitted to the Fatima Jinnah Institute of Chest Disease after experiencing a drop in platelet levels. Authorities in Quetta have urged the public to wear masks and gloves when entering hospitals, and measures such as hospital-wide spraying have been implemented to curb the rapid spread of this tick-borne disease.

Recently, Mir Waiz (30), a resident of Quetta, also lost his life to the Congo virus. He had been relocated from Balochistan to a private hospital in Karachi after testing positive for the disease. This alarming situation highlights the swift and dangerous spread of this viral illness in Balochistan, leading to fatalities not only among the general population but also among healthcare professionals.
